TWIN KITTENS is unlike most conventional galleries in Atlanta. We don’t make money, truthfully, we leak it like a sieve. Why? Because we believe in the power of art & ideas to transform culture and deepen community. To this end, we will always strive to empower artists to present compelling exhibitions of an outstanding caliber.
We are proud to be part of Westside’s art scene. ATL is a good place.
TK Abbreviated History
When we began as a working photography studio, we would occasionally hold exhibitions and various functions in the live/work space. After some time, we recognized that we were on to something in hosting these art exhibitions. It was a response to the community saying, “yes - more please” that kept us going. We have simply been responding since. Now, a year into it, we are proud to say, we have become exclusively a venue for visual artists.
We’ve got a small but capable space that is unique on the Westside and in Atlanta at large. We curate and host shows that promote artists to make thoughtful risks and calculations in order to present the public with challenging artwork and ideas. This in turn enriches the whole art scene. We are grateful to be part of that cultural work.
In the Summer of 2010 we launched our first Public Support Campaign to cover our operating costs. We have been honored by the contributions from those who believe in the work that is being done at TWIN KITTENS. Whether you give $15, $250, or an encouraging word, we thank you for your patronage.
